Modern Commodities Inc is committed to safeguarding the personal and company information entrusted to us by our Clients (“Client information”). We manage Client information in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws. This policy outlines the principles and practices we follow in protecting Client information. A copy of this policy is provided to any Client on request.
Who is responsible for processing Client information?
Modern Commodities Inc, a company organized and existing under the laws of Alberta and having its registered office at 400-119 14th St NW, Calgary, Alberta.
What Client information do we collect?
We collect only the Client information that we need for the purposes of providing services to our clients, including information such as company and personnel names, phone numbers, addresses, order information, etc. needed to:
- onboard a client for Brokerage and Modern Hub Services
- transact and deliver requested products and services
- satisfy Regulatory requirements
We normally collect Client information both verbally and in writing, directly with consent or as authorized by law. We inform our clients, before or at the time of collecting Client information, of the purposes for which we are collecting the information. The only time we don’t provide this notification is when a client volunteers information for an obvious purpose.
We assume your consent to continue to use and, where applicable, disclose Client information that we have already collected, for the purpose for which the information was collected. A client may withdraw consent to the use and disclosure of Client information at any time, unless the Client information is necessary for us to fulfil our legal obligations.
How do we safeguard Client information?
We make every reasonable effort to ensure that Client information is accurate and complete. We rely on clients to notify us if there is a change to their Client information that may affect their relationship with our organization. If you are aware of an error in our information about you, please let us know and we will correct it on request wherever possible. In some cases we may ask for a written request for correction.
We protect Client information in a manner appropriate for the sensitivity of the information. We make every reasonable effort to prevent any loss, misuse, disclosure or modification of Client information, as well as any unauthorized access to Client information.
